PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance and to facilitate prepn. by forming a surface layer consisting essentially of ceramic powder and synthetic resin on the surface of a pattern to a specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:A product part 3, a riser part 4 and a runner part 5 are respectively fixed to a plate 2 to form the pattern 1 consisting essentially of an epoxy resin. A coated film 8 consisting essentially of an urethane resin and ceramic (Al2O3) powder is formed in the surface layer part 7 of the base body 6 of the pattern 1 to a 10-200mum range. A paint prepd. of a mixture composed of the urethane resin, ceramic powder, pigment, thinner, etc. is sprayed by an air spray gun to form a coated film 8. The wear resistance of the pattern 1 is improved by the intervention of the film 8 contg. the ceramic powder and since the method for spraying the paint by a spray gun is adopted, the prepn. is facilitated.
