PURPOSE:To stably hold the attitude of a seat cushion even if an external stress is applied to the seat cushion, by providing a drive mechanism to one of a pair of rail units, and by providing a lock mechanism for locking upper and lower rails when the drive mechanism is rested, and for unlocking the rail when the drive mechanism is operated. CONSTITUTION:When a seat cushion which is not shown is set at an appropriate position, a drive mechanism composed of a drive motor 18, a locking section 19 and a bolt shaft 15 is rested. Further, an upper rail 14 is subjected to the locking action of the locking section 19 on a lower rail 12, an therefore, holds its stabilized condition. Simultaneously, a resilient member 27 in a locking mechanism 23 disposed on the upper rail 13 side holds in a such a condition that a rod 22 and a bracket 24 are firmly locked. Further, there is no risk of sliding movements of the lower and upper rails 13 due to external shock such as, for example, abrupt brake, etc. |
