PURPOSE:To form a lubricant coating in a short time, by applying an aq. acetoacetylated polyvinyl alcohol soln. and a specific aq. reacting agent soln. on the surface of tools for metal working or metal materials to be worked to allow them to gel. CONSTITUTION:There are provided an aq. acetoacetylated polyvinyl alcohol soln. (A) which optionally contains a solid lubricant (e.g.: graphite powder) dispersed therein and an aq. soln. of a reacting agent selected from a aldehyde group-contg. compds. (e.g.: formaldehyde), hydrazide group-contg. compds. (e.g.: dihydrazide malonate), amino group-contg. compds. (e.g.: diethylenetriamine) and epoxy group-contg. compds. (e.g.: ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether). The components (A) and (B) are successively applied or applied in the form of a mixture of them on the surface of tools for metal working or metal materials to be worked. The components (A) and (B) gel on the surface of the tools to form a lubricant coating, thereby imparting a lubricity to the tools. |
