PURPOSE:To make it possible to judge objectively whether a proper gain is obtained or not and also to improve reproducibility of an image by a different inspector, by displaying the saturated state of an echo signal. CONSTITUTION:An echo signal from probe 1 is amplified by preamplifier 3 that has its gain controlled by STC circuit 2 in terms of time and then led to saturated signal discriminator 4. The echo signal is supplied to saturated signal discriminator 4, whose output is held at a high level. Consequently, horizontal line saturated signal memory 6 and vertical line saturated signal memory 5 are placed in write mode. A vertical-line saturated signal and horizontal-line saturated signal are written in memories 5 and 6 respectively and a proper mark is displayed in an echo signal display raster. |
