PURPOSE:To provide heat resistance and abrasion resistance for a ring groove by using a composite wire in which the hollow core part made of aluminium or Al-alloy is charged with Si powder and padding the part corresponding to the piston ring groove and forming the ring groove. CONSTITUTION:As for a composite wire 1, the hollow core part of a skin member 2 made of Al-alloy containing 5% Si is charged with Si powder 3 in a weight ratio of 30%. Said composite wire 1 is continuously supplied through an electricity feeding tip 7 by a feeding roller 6, and a recessed part 5 is padded to form a bulged part 8 through MIG welding. Then, a piston ring groove is formed through machining, and therefore, the superior heat resistance and abrasion resistance can be provided for the ring groove by forming a piston ring groove through machining, even if an expensive abrasionproof ring is not used in the conventional. Further, the machining for the ring groove is facilitated, and since the ring groove and the piston body are made integrally, the heat transmission performance at the boundary part is not reduced. |
