PURPOSE:To absorb or damp printing sound generated on a platen into or in a printer casing and contrive a reduction of noise, by a construction wherein a cover is provided which is capable of closing and opening an opening part and having an inserting port for an unprinted recording paper and an ejecting port for a printed recording paper, and a resonator is provided in a casing. CONSTITUTION:The cover 13 having substantially the same shape as that of the opening part 2a of an upper casing 2 is provided with the ejecting port 13a for the printed recording paper near a central part thereof and with the inserting port 13b for the unprinted recording paper at an end part thereof. The aperture area of each of the ports 13a, 13b is set to be slightly larger than the maximum recording paper used on printer. Since the cover 13 has substantially the same shape as that of the opening part 2a, the opening part 2a can be closed by placing the cover 13 on a stepped part 2b of the part 2a, and can be opened by removing the cover. The resonator 14 disposed in a vacant space in the casing 1 is formed of a glass, a plastic, a plywood or the like, is in the shape of a box, and resonates to the printing sound, thereby absorbing the latter. |
