PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of any damage to a bearing, by using a hybrid bearing, while absorbing the extent of expansion or contraction in both longitudinal and radial directions of a shaft. CONSTITUTION:A slide bearing 4 is installed inside a self-aligning roller bearing 31 of a hybrid bearing using this bearing 31. Likewise, another slide bearing 8 is installed in the outside of this self-aligning roller bearing 31. Width of this slide bearing 8 is made to be wider than that of the self-aligning roller bearing 31, and there is provided with a space 81 which is slidable on the slide bearing 8 when each position of a shaft 11 and the self-aligning roller bearing 31 is moved by expansion or contraction of a roll 1. Therefore, even if the expansion or the contraction in both longitudinal and radial directions of the shaft occurs, it is effectively absorbed, thus any damage to the bearing is prevented from occurring.
