PURPOSE:To remove the thermal expansion difference between respective heat transfer pipes of a heat transfer pipe group and to prevent generation of stress in the mounting part of a fixed tubular plate and the heat transfer pipe by providing a return pipe passing from a movable tube plate through a heat transfer pipe group and extending outwardly off a shell. CONSTITUTION:A heating fluid (a) flows into a shell 1 through an inlet 6a1 and is exhausted out of an outlet pipe 6a2 via the outer peripheries of respective heat transfer pipes of a heat transfer pipe 4 group. A fluid (b) to heat is fed through an inlet pipe 7a1 into a fixed water chamber 13, and flows into all the heat transfer pipe 4 of the heat transfer pipe 4 group and flows through a return pipe 10 via a movable water chamber 3b and is derived from an outlet pipe 7a2 outside the shell 1. The fluid makes heat-exchange with a heating fluid (a) during flowing through respective heat transfer pipes 4 and the return pipe 10 and has a high temperature. The fluid within a fixed water chamber 13 passes through all the heat transfer pipes 4 and is exhausted from the return pipe via the movable water chamber 3b, whereby the thermal expansion difference between respective heat transfer pipes 4 is removed. Further, since the thermal expansion of the heat transfer pipe 4 group with respect to the shell becomes free and is not subjected to restriction, almost no stress is generated between the heat transfer pipe 4 group and the movable tube plate 26 and between the heat transfer pipe 4 group and the movable tube plate 26 and between the heat transfer pipe 4 group and the fixed tube plate 2.
