<p>PURPOSE:To abolish a return spring so as to make the arrangement compact by connecting a pressure chamber on the side reverse to a friction plate of an offset cylinder fitted with an offset operating piston, to a hydraulic pressure source via a change-over valve and normally connecting a ring-formed chamber between the operating piston and the cylinder to the hydraulic pressure source. CONSTITUTION:An operating piston 6 is a ring-formed body with a concentric structure the outer periphery of which consists of a small-diameter cylindrical surface 21 which is of small diameter on the side of a clutch friction plate 20 and a large-diameter cylindrical surface 22 which is on the side reverse to the friction plate, and this operating piston 6 fits in an offset cylinder 23 attached to a case 3. A pressure chamber 26 between the operating piston 6 and the bottom surface of the offset cylinder 23 is connected to a hydraulic pressure source 29 via an operating oil inlet 27 and a change-over valve 28. The offset cylinder 23 is provided with a ring-formed groove 30 between the small-diameter cylindrical surface 21 and the large diameter cylindrical surface 22, and a ring-formed chamber 31 in the groove 30 normally communicates with the pressure source 29 via an operating oil inlet 32. Accordingly, the operating piston 6 is normally under the action of oil pressure normally directed to the right.</p> |
