PURPOSE:To contrive better appearance, by supporting a platen knob by a construction wherein the radius and the center of radii of a curved surface of a casing coincide with those of an outer peripheral surface of the platen knob. CONSTITUTION:An upper surface of the casing 1 for the printer is provided with the curved surface 4 expanded to conform to the outer peripheral surface of a platen 3. A side surface of the casing 1 is provided with a circularly shaped guide part for rotatably supporting the platen knob 5. The radius and the center of radii of the curved surface 4 coincide with those of the guide parts 6. To mount the platen knob 5, a joint 11 is fitted under pressure to a shaft 7 of the platen 3, the platen knob 5 is fitted into the guide part 6 of the casing 1, and supporting parts 15 are elastically engaged to a flange 10. In this case, rotation-transmitting parts 13, 14 are engaged to each other, with an allowance for generating play in the radial direction, so that the knob 5 can be fitted into the guide part 6. In this condition, the center of radii of the curved surface 4 of the casing 1 necessarily coincides with that of the knob 5, so that the appearance of the device is enhanced. |
