PURPOSE:To prevent a defective hammer printing pressure from being generated due to variations in ambient temperature and enable clear printing, by varying a hammer current in a steady state in accordance with leading end characteristics of the hammer current. CONSTITUTION:A hammer-driving means 101 performs such control that a hammer current for driving a hammer 100 becomes constant, by a constant current controlling means 102. The leading end characteristic of the hammer current is detected by a detecting means 103, and a detection output is supplied to a hammer current varying means 104. The means 104 varies the hammer current in the steady state in accordance with the leading end characteristic thus detected so that the energy supplied to the hammer 100 is maintained to be constantly fixed irrespective of variations in the ambient temperature. Accordingly, a defective hammer printing pressure is prevented from being generated due to temperature variations, and clear printing is performed. |
