PURPOSE:To know early the deterioration of the active component in a gas adsorptive catalyst, more particularly stack gas denitrifying catalyst so that the cause for the same is pinpointed and that the immediate remedy for the same is made possible by measuring the dispersion state of the above-mentioned active component by using a chemical adsorption method. CONSTITUTION:The dispersion state of the active component in the gas adsorptive catalyst, more particularly stack gas denitrifying catalyst is estimated by adsorbing hydrogen sulfide to said catalyst at <=150 deg.C, more preferably 100-150 deg.C and measuring the adsorbed quantity thereof. The value obtd. by dividing the quantity of the adsorbed hydrogen sulfide by the quantity of the active component to be incorporated into the catalyst is determined as a measure for the dispersion state of the active component. The value approximate to 1 is indicative of the satisfactory state of the active component in the catalyst. A decrease in the numerical value is indicative of the deteriorated dispersion state of the active component. The deteriorated state of the catalyst is therefore known by measuring preliminarily the dispersion state of the active component in the initial period of operation, drawing samples from a catalyst reactor with lapse of time thereafter and measuring the dispersion state of the active component.
|
