PURPOSE:To improve the vibration resistance of grid by providing a projection made of insulator having the top face higher than the surface of fluorescent material layer between the anodes arranged in stripe while stretching a linear grid in close proximity with the upper face. CONSTITUTION:An enclosure constructed with an anode substrate 2, a face plate 3 and a sideboard 4 is evacuated then plural stripe anodes 6, plural linear grids 7 crossing perpendicularly with the anode 6 and a filament cathode 8 and contained. Then anodes 6 comprising anode conductors 6a applied with fluorescent material layer 6b are arranged in stripe onto the anode substrate 2 while projections 5 mainly composed of low melting point glass are formed through printing between them to be slightly higher than the surface of said layer 6b. Then a grid 7 is stretched in close proximity to said projection 5. Consequently, the vibration of the grid 7 is suppressed resulting in improvement of the picture quality.
