PURPOSE:To provide a makeup cosmetic applicable smoothly to the skin giving durable and smooth film, having moisturizing effect and free from irritation to the skin, by compounding a cosmetic base with a pigment or extender pigment surface-treated with hydrogenated lecithin. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an inorganic pigment such as titanium oxide, red oxide, yellow oxide, etc. to an extender pigment such as talc, kaolin, mica, etc. is treated with hydrogenated lecithin having an iodine value of <=30 and prepared by the hydrogenation of natural or synthetic lecithin, and the obtained treated pigment is compound to a cosmetic base. For example, an aqueous dispersion of pigment is added with 0.3-10% hydrogenated lecithin based on the pigment, and heated under vigorous agitation to effect the complete dissolution or emulsification of the hydrogenated lecithin in water and the adsorption of the lecithin to the surface of the pigment particle. An aqueous solution of a soluble salt of Al, Mg, Ca, etc. is added dropwise to the mixture in an amount of 0.1- 2 equivalent based on the lecithin. A water-insoluble salt of lecithin and the above metal is formed and is completely oriented and adsorbed on the surface of the pigment. |
