PURPOSE:To form an electrophotographic sensitive body superior in sensitivity and potential stability during the durability test by incorporating a specified azo pigment in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contains the azo pigment represented by formula (1) is which R is alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or acyl, Ar1-Ar4 are each an optionally substd. arylene or heterocyclic group, and A is a coupler residue having a phenolic OH group. This disazo pigment is typified by formula (2), this permitting polarity of the pigment to be changed, one or both of carrier generating efficiency and carrier transfer efficiency to be improved, sensitivity as the photosensitive body to be enhanced, potential stability to be ensured during use for a long period, and consequently, a stable beautiful image to be obtained independent of its use history. |
