PURPOSE:In obtaining an optical element in a complicated shape by fusing plural element parts, to reduce extremely production processes and to obtain a large amount of the optical element in a short time, by pressing plural mold parts having preformed materials to the materials. CONSTITUTION:For example, the plural prism 42 is formed, the upper mold 33 has one element of the prism 42, namely the molding face 33a corresponding to the large triangular section part 43, and the lower mold 32 has the molding face 32a corresponding to two lower elements, namely, the parts (two) 43' having small triangular sections. Firstly, the small materials 44 are put on the face 32a. Then, the large material 45 is placed on them. Further, the mold 33 is placed on it, the movable plate 24 is raised, and the mold holder 26 is set in a given position in the housing 20. Then, water is sent to the water cooling pipe 19 of the closed container 6, the heater 23 is operated, the container 6 is evacuated by the vacuum pump 14, and when a temperature wherein the materials 44 and 45 can be molded is detected, the mold 33 is pressed downward. Consequently, the materials 44 and 45 are molded into the shapes of the faces 32a and 33a, simultaneously the parts 43 and 43' are fused and bonded, and the complex prism shown by the figure is obtained.
