PURPOSE:To improve the reliability and the performance of maintenance of a store and forward switchboard by providing an auxiliary line adaptor, disconnecting an active line adaptor when a fault takes place in the line and using the auxiliary line adaptor. CONSTITUTION:Suppose that the line adaptor 3 corresponding to a terminal device A is inoperative when the transmission of information is started to the terminal device A. A central controller 9 activates a terminal controller 14 from line adaptor state information from a line control unit 5 to allow a typewriter 15 to print out a message representing it, starts a line switching controller 17 and supplies a command of control to connect a modulator-demodulator 2 corresponding to the terminal device A and the auxiliary line adaptor 16 to the line switching controller 17. A line switch section 18 is connected as shown in dotted lines to disconnect the line adaptor having a fault. |
