PURPOSE:To obtain a full color recording method by an excellent color reproducing method in which Neugebauer's relational equation coincides with a characteristic of a real pint by controlling an area factor of three color inks by a value of the area factor obtained by a prescribed equation. CONSTITUTION:According to an embodiment of the present invention, video signals R, G, B are respectively quantized to 6 bits by A/D converters 1-3 to be 4 bit/picture elements by gamma correction ROMs 4-6. A ROM 7 converts the video signal of R of 4 bits into a solution of the equation I, a value of (d). A ROM 8 converts the video signal of G of 4 bits, a solution of the equation II with respect to the value of (c) and outputs the value of (m) and the value corresponding to DELTA1 respectively in 4 bits. In a ROM 9, a video signal of B of 4 bits is converted to a solution of the equation III to the value DELTA1, the value of (y).
