PURPOSE:To disperse the fluid of two phases of vapor and liquid uniformly into respective insides of heat transfer tubes by a method wherein a baffle plate is provided diagonally from the upper connecting section of the inlet pipe and the inlet channel of the heat exchanger toward the immediately front position of a tube plate below the channel so as not to make the sectional area of a flow path at the end of the baffle plate smaller than the sectional area of the inlet pipe. CONSTITUTION:The sectional area of flow path between the end 15 of the baffle plate and the bottom of the channel is made so as to be equal substantially to the sectional area of the inlet pipe. The heat exchanging fluid, introduced thereinto, is separated in the inlet pipe 1 into the liquid phase fluid 7 and the vapor phase fluid 8, passes between the baffle plate 9 and the bottom of the inlet channel 2, flows up vertically immediately after the outlet port at the end 15 of the baffle plate and the two phases of the fluid are mixed, then the level of liquid phase is ascended in the appearance thereof and the fluid flows into the heat transfer tubes 3 under forming homogeneous flow to heat the endothermic fluid from an inlet nozzle 4, thereafter, the fluid becomes the waste fluid 14 of heat exchange and flows down to the bottom of an outlet channel 13, then, is discharged out of an outlet nozzle 11.
