PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of any drop in stability during car driving, by constituting a device so as to prohibit a top supporting device from driving excepting such a case when a stopping state detecting device detects the stoppage of a car, in case of the top type roof device bearing the above caption. CONSTITUTION:A fuse 142 and a running cut relay 160 both are installed interposingly between a movable pillar driving circuit 150 and a power source 141, and a car stop detecting switch 165 is connected to a coil 162 of the running cut relay 160. This car stop detecting switch is turned on when a parking brake lever is pulled up and a parking brake is operating, energizing a coil 162 with a continuous rating current. Accordingly, energization to the movable pillar driving circuit 150 is made possible, thus driving control is performable.In contrast with this, if the parking brake is released and the switch 165 is turned off, the energization to the driving circuit 150 is checked. With this constitution, stability during car driving is secured.
