PURPOSE:To attain high speed print control by providing a means writing a space pattern to an address the same as the address of a print pattern read previously after the print pattern is read from a data buffer. CONSTITUTION:A print code is given from a channel device 2 to a print controller 20 controlling a printer 4. A converter 5 in the print controller 20 converts the said print code into a print pattern by using a conversion table 7 and stores once in a data buffer 8. The operation is repeated and when data for one line's content is gathered, a reader 6 reads sequentially the print pattern from the data buffer 8 and sends it to the printer 4 for print. At the print operation, in reading the print pattern from the data buffer 8, a write controller 21 writes immediately a space pattern to an address the same as an address of the read print pattern so as to omit the operation of closing the space pattern to the data buffer 8 in parallel with line feeding.
