HEATING ROLLER

PURPOSE:To improve the paper passability on the surface of a heating roller and to prevent the exfoliation of a PFA film by providing a primer layer consisting of the two layers; a lower layer consisting of a mixture composed essentially of a silicone resin and silane coupling agent and an upper layer consisting of a mixture composed essentially of an alkoxy modified fluororesin between a silicone rubber coating layer and the thin PFA film layer of the outermost layer. CONSTITUTION:Addition reaction type silicone rubber 2 is coated on a hollow mandrel 1 made of aluminum and thereafter the surface is ground to finish the mandrel to 40.0mmphi outside diameter. A primer 3 for silicone rubber is then coated thereon and is air-dried. A primer 4 for fluororesin is further over- coated thereon and is air-dried. PFA 5 is further coated to 20mum thickness in the central part onto the primers by an electrostatic powder painting method and is baked. The resulted roller exhibits 150,000 sheets of durability without troubles such as paper wrinkling and paper jam when said roller is used continuously in automatic copying on both sides. The floating and exfoliation of the PFA film 5 on the roller surface do not arise at all even after a force jam test.
