Foamed polyester resin is prepd. for use as sanitary ware, building panels, and storage tanks. A liq. thermosetting unsatd. polyester resin is mixed with a liq. borohydride. The foaming agent is a liq. borohydride complex, which may be dissolved in an organic liq., or an inorganic borohydride salt dispersed in a nonreactive organic liq.. Pref. the polyester is hydroxy funtional and the borohydride is a quat. ammonium borohydride. The blowing agent is used at 3-11 vol. %. The compsn. includes a peroxide curing agent and an amine promoter, e.g. a tert. amine.
