PURPOSE:To suppress the oscillation of a ladle by rising a supporting base by means of a lifting mechanism provided to the pit below the spacing between the rails of a mixer car thereby supporting the bottom of the ladle in the stage of refining a molten iron in the ladle when the torpedo ladle car stops. CONSTITUTION:The torpedo ladle car 1 travels on the rails 7 and stops on the pit 10 provided below the spacing between the rails 7. The lifting mechanism 11 provided in the pit ascends to support the central part of the bottom surface of the ladle 2 by the supporting base 13. A lance 19 is then inserted through an aperture 3 into the ladle 2 and nitrogen or the like is blown into the molten iron 8 to refine the molten iron 8. Then the oscillation of the ladle 2 by the stirring and foaming as a result of refining is suppressed.
