PURPOSE:To stabilize the titled resin so as to be free from initial color development when melted on heating, thus to provide a colorless clear melt, by incorporating said resin with either poly(meth)acrylic acid or copolymer from acrylic acid and methacrylic acid. CONSTITUTION:First, (A) 100pts.wt. of CPVC with a chlorine content 60-70wt% prepared by chlorination of PVC with a viscosity-average polymerization degree, pref. 300-3,000 is incorporated with (B) 0.01-2pts.wt., in the acid from, of either poly(meth)acrylic acid or copolymer from acrylic acid and methacrylic acid with a molecular weight pref. 5,000-600,000 (e.g., prepared by solution polymerization, in the presence of an initiator such as benzoyl peroxide, of acrylic acid dissolved in an organic solvent) and, preferably, (C) 0.5-5wt% of a dialkyltin-contg. sulfur compound, followed by kneading, thus accomplishing the objective stabilization.
