PURPOSE:To cool an exhaust port so efficiently by leading cooling water first into a cooling water passage around the exhaust port as well as to prevent a cylinder head part from overcooling and cool both upper and lower cylinders uniformly by turning over the cooling water. CONSTITUTION:A cooling water passage 18 is installing in one side of an engine body 1 so as to go along an exhaust port 12 and it is interconnected to a cooling water inlet installed in the engine body 1. And, a partition plate 20 partitioning off the cooling water passage 18 is installed in this passage 18 so as to go across a cooling water flow, and an interconnecting part 21 interconnecting each cooling water passage 18 with each other is installed there. In addition, an interconnecting passage 23 leading to a cooling water passage 10 installed in a cylinder head 6 is installed at the downstream side of the partition plate 20 of the cooling water passage 18 at the exhaust port 12 side. According to this method, cooling water cools the exhaust port 12 for a while it passes through the cooling water passage 18 at the exhaust port 12 side and then flows in the cooling water passage 10 by way of the partition plate 20 and the interconnecting passage 23, cooling the cylinder head 6.
