PURPOSE:To print data in high speed in a form with high quality by providing an external storage device registering in advance form information expanded into a print image so as to reduce the processing at form overlay. CONSTITUTION:An interface 1 with a host computer 7, a microprocessor 2 and an external storage device 3 are connected to a bus 10 of a printer, and a character expanding control section 4 and a bit map memory 5 are connected between buses 10, 20. The print image information read from the bit map memory 5 is fed to a printer mechanism section 6. The external storage device 3 stores form information (various information such as ruled line relating to form change) expanded into a print image given from the host computer 7 in advance to the external storage device 3. The microprocessor 2 reads the form information from the external storage device 3 according to form overlay index given from the host computer 7 and transfers it to the bit map memory 5 for the control. |
