PURPOSE:To change the valve characteristic by dividing a rocker arm into an arm being in contact with cams and an arm being in contact with valves, and providing a plunger fitted with a lockedly engaging piece which engages or disengages respective arms so as to change over the interlock of cams and valves with a simple structure. CONSTITUTION:For intake valves 2a and 2b provided on a cylinder 1, plural number of cams 3a, 3b and r are arranged on a cam shaft 5. In this case, a rocker arm 6 arranged between the respective cams 3a, 3b, 4 and the intake valves 2a, 2b is divided into the first arm 7 provided with a pair of right and left arm parts 7a and 7b being in contact with respective high-speed type cams 3a and 3b and the second arm 8 provided with contact parts 8a and 8b to respective intake valves 2a and 2b and a contact part 8c to the low-speed type cam 4. And the said respective arms 7 and 8 are enabled to be engaged or disengaged by a plunger 11 arranged on the outer circumference of a rocker shaft 9, and further a lockedly engaging piece 12 which engages or disengages respective arms 7 and 8 is provided to the plunger 11. |
