<p>PURPOSE:To simplify a process for manufacture and driving circuit by forming a bus-bar electrode layer, connecting electrode layer and picture element electrode layer on an insulating substrate, forming the connecting electrode layer of a transparent conductive layer or the transparent conductive layer laminated thereon with a metallic layer, cutting further the connecting electrode layer and coating the same with a non-linear resistance layer. CONSTITUTION:A tin oxide layer contg. antimony, tin indium layer contg. tin and cadmium tin oxide layer are formed over the entire surface on the insulating substrate 1. A resist layer of a prescribed pattern is then formed thereon and an accelerated argon ion shower is irradiated on the tin oxide layer, indium oxide layer or cadmium tin oxide layer, by which the transparent conductive layer 2 is obtd. The connecting electrode layer 6 is then cut to obtain a groove 3 and after the non-linear resistance layer is formed over the entire surface, the resistance layer is finely worked to obtain the substrate for a liquid crystal cell. Both ends of the layer exhibiting a non-linear resistance characteristic are of the same material on the insulating substrate and therefore the current and voltage characteristics are symmetrical with the positive and negative of the voltage. The driving circuit simpler than the conventional circuit is thus obtd.</p> |
