发明名称 OPTICAL DEFLECTOR
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the deflection efficiency of an optical deflecting device and to reduce its size by providing a waveguide type lens to each light guide and arranging a surface acoustic wave generating means which generates a surface acoustic wave so that it operates on each light beam mutually. CONSTITUTION:There are a grating lens, a geodesic lens, a Luneburg lens, a Fresnel lens, etc., as the waveguide type lens. Light projected on a light guide layer 12 from a light guide 16 is converged by the waveguide type lens 21 and deflected by operating on an SAW mutually in its waist area, so high deflection efficiency is obtained. The output light, therefore, has high intensity and a good SN ratio and need not be amplified. Further, the light projected from the light guide 16 is converged, so their gap is narrowed down and the width of the light guide 16 is also decreased; high integration and high density on one substrate are realized and high-speed processing such as parallel/serial conversion becomes possible.
