PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately detect the position of the hole of an article to be detected, by irradiating the surface of an article to be detected with the light from a light source through a light emitting optical fiber and detecting the reflected light from the article to be detected of the irradiated light. CONSTITUTION:A detector 1, constituted by a method wherein the leading end parts of a light emitting optical fiber 2 and a light receiving optical fiber 3 are mutually arranged in a concentric form and integrally bundled, is provided to irradiate the surface of an article W to be detected with the light from a light emitting diode 5 being a light source through the light emitting optical fiber 2. The reflected light from the surface of the article W to be detected of the irradiated light is detected through the light receiving optical fiber 3 and the shift of the detector 1 from a hole position of the detector 1 is judged on the basis of the irregularity of the reflected light to move the detector 1 to the hole position. By this method, because the irradiation angle of irradiated light from the light emitting fiber 2 can be always kept constant, the hole position of the article to be detected can be stably and accurately detected. |
