PURPOSE:To accomplish long-term prevention of aquatic life from latching and growth on the underwater section of vessels, etc., by coating an antifouling object with specific water-contg. gel layer to prevent toxins from release into water. CONSTITUTION:The objective antifouling process is as follows; a section for preventing aquatic life from latching is coated with a water-contg. gel layer with a water content 55-98wt%. Said water-contg. gel is especially preferably prepared by using polyacrylic acid and/or its salt and a compound having in one molecule at least two epoxy groups (e.g., polyethylene glycol diglycidyl ether). |
