PURPOSE:To improve calibration precision and to widen an application range by providing a calibrator body part equipped with a light emitting element part corresponding to a photodetecting element part on the side of a testing machine and a control part which controls the light emission of the light emitting element part, the intervals of light emission, and light emission time. CONSTITUTION:Respective LEDs 20-22 emit light at intervals set equal to the standard running speed of the shutter curtains of a camera to be tested. Light emission times DELTAt3-DELTAt5 of light emission of the LEDs 20-22 can be adjusted matching with a shutter speed to be measured so that the shutter speed measurement precision of the shutter testing machine 3 can be calibrated. When the shutter curtain running speed is calibrated, the LEDs 20-22 are turned on successively at intervals DELTAt1 and DELTAt2 of light emission and measured values of the light-received photodetecting elements 8-10 are checked and calibrated to correct values. When the shutter speed is calibrated, the light emission times of the respective LEDs 20-22 are set to the shutter speed to be calibrated and a light receiving time is calculated by a shutter speed measurement and arithmetic part 11.
