PURPOSE:To perform timing advance control in a highly accurate manner, by installing a cam nose in a part of a fuel injection cam driving a plunger of a fuel injection pump, making it possible to quickly press the said plunger, and improving a flaming speed so better, while installing a timing advance driving device in a tappet. CONSTITUTION:A valve gear cam (unillustrated herein) for suction valve on-off control and a fuel injection cam 7 driving a unit injector 6 both are locked to a valve gear cam shaft 4 to be interlockingly rotated with a crankshaft, whereby motion of a tappet 16 jointly operated with the injection cam 7 is made transmittable to a plunger 19 of the unit injector 6. In this fuel injection cam 7 is made up of clamping a cam nose 17 to a part of its peripheral surface. In addition, the tappet 16 is constituted to be movement-adjustable in a circumferential tangent direction of the fuel injection cam 7 by means of a movement driver D making a hydraulic cylinder a driving source, whereby highly timing advance controlling accuracy is made so as to be securable.
