PURPOSE:To attain the miniaturization and wt. reduction of a glass contamination degree detector, by providing a cover for preventing the mixing of rainwater and ventilation ports to the upper part of a detection tank filled with a predetermined amount of distilled water while providing a water conductivity meter for measuring the electrolytic degree of distilled water in the detection tank. CONSTITUTION:If the conductivity of distilled water is continuously measured by the water conductivity meter 9 attached to the interior of a detection tank 1 having a cover 2 for preventing the mixing of rainwater and ventilation ports 3 provided to the upper part thereof, salt quantity coming flying by natural wind can be determined. Because strong correlation has been confirmed between thus detected conductivity of distilled water in the detection tank 1 and the actual contamination quantity on the surface of glass, the contamination degree of glass can be accurately grasped by the conductivity of distilled water measured by the water conductivity meter 9. By this constitution, a small-sized light wt. detector enabled in continuous measurement can be obtained.
