PURPOSE:To improve the radiation efficiency, to prevent the corrosion of the red hot unit and to shorten the cooking time by a cooker which comprises silicate glass fiber fabric having SiO2 as its primary constituent, an infrared ray radiation layer, a gas burner and an infrared ray reflection plate. CONSTITUTION:The constitution is such that an infrared ray radiation layer 5 is formed on the surface of silicate glass fiber fabric 1 to make up a radiation unit which is turned red hot by a gas burner 2 and a infrared ray reflection plate 3. The silicate glass fiber fabric 1 has SiO2 as its primary constituent and contains a small amount of Al2O3, CaO, Fe2O3, TiO2 etc. as well. The infrared ray radiation layer 5 consists of a hardened polymer 6 having polyborosiloxane as its primary constituent and an oxide 7 of more than one elements among Zr, Al, Fe, Mn, Cu, Co, Ni, Ti and Si. The infrared ray radiation layer 5 improves the radiation efficiency, and as the radiation unit is ceramic, corrosion is hardly encountered. Being a fabric 1, it provides an appropriate porosity and a red hot area larger than metallic unit, and so, the cooking time can be shortened.
