摘要 PURPOSE:To sharply reduce the number of switches and volumes for operation control or completely omit them as well as to make improvements in operatability, by detecting a nonvaried state of an accelerator manipulated variable, while making a controller start to set and control a car speed and a car-to-car distance automatically. CONSTITUTION:Each detecting signal out of a radar unit 18 and a car speed sensor 20 is fed to a car speed control circuit 16 from which a throttle valve operating device 10, a transmission operating device 12 and a brake operating device 14 are all controlled. And, the operating amount of an accelerator pedal 30 is detected by an accelerator sensor 32, whereby the detecting signal is fed to the car speed control circuit 16. Likewise, an indicator displaying a car speed and a car-to-car distance is also controlled by the car speed control circuit 16. In this case, this car speed control circuit 16 is constituted as centering on a microcomputer. And, the car speed and the car-to-car distance are automatically controlled without operating the accelerator pedal 30 and a clutch pedal. In consequence, switches and volumes for operation control are sharply reducible in number and, what is more, operatability is improvable.
