PURPOSE:To enable needle rollers to be easily inserted, by inserting a dummy shaft, to which the needle rollers adhere, into the circular opening of an assembly bed and then extracting only the dummy shaft further inserting a shaft member into said opening. CONSTITUTION:A dummy shaft 4, having a diameter slightly larger than tht of a shaft member 2, forms a necessary number of roller holding grooves 4a on the peripheral surface in an equal space, and grease is applied to the dummy shaft 4. Next the method, rolling the dummy shaft 4 on needle rollers 3 lined in roller holding groove 4a on a roller temporarily placing bed, arranges the needle rollers 3 adhering to the roller holding grooves 4a of the dummy shaft 4. Thereafter, the dummy shaft 4, arranging the needle rollers 3 to adhere, is inserted into the shaft hole of a rotary member. Finally under a condition that an assembly bed 19, having a circular opening 20 enabling only the dummy shaft 4 to pass through, holds the rotary member so as to be coaxially placed with said circular opening 20, the method, while extracting the dummy shaft 4 from the circular opening, inserts the shaft member 2 into the shaft hole of the rotary member successively to the dummy shaft being extracted.
