PURPOSE:To enable provision of a high conversion rate though small in spite of convertion of linear movement into rotational movement by the use of a cam in a movement converting mechanism adapted to perform rotational movement through utilization of linear movement. CONSTITUTION:A pin 5, engaged with a projection 4 of a cam 3 of a handling unit 1 is situated to the forward end at one end of a link 6 formed in an L- shaped and pivotally secured to a shaft 9. The pin 5 is located movably in a direction extending at right angles with the linear movement direction of the unit 1, and is energized rotably in a counterclockwise direction through the force of a spring 7 coupled to the other end of the link 6. The rotation is restricted by a stopper 8 brought into contact with the other end of the link 6. This, when the unit 1 is moved from a position (a) to a position (c), causes engagement of a projection 4 of the cam 3 with the pin 5 when the unit 1 is moved to a position (b), and causes the unit 1 to be rotated as the pin 5 is moved along the outer periphery of the cam 3 in a direction, extending perpendicularly to movement of the unit 1 along with movement of the unit 1.
