PURPOSE:To perform efficient roughing by connecting an optical copy grinding machine and surface grinding machine with telecommunication cables, computing roughing data copying a screen sheet figure, and transferring them to the surface grinding machine. CONSTITUTION:An optical grinding machine 1 and surface grinding machine 2 are installed and connected with each other with telecommunication cables 3. The workpiece shape to be machined is taught to the control device of the optical copy grinding machine 1 copying the screen sheet figure put on the screen 8 of the optical copy grinding machine 1 to computer roughing data, which are transferred to the surface grinding machine 2 and read by the control device. And the surface grinding machine 2 performs roughing in automatic cycle mode according to the roughing data. Then, the optical copy grinding machine 1 finishes. Such efficient roughing enables the machine to shorten machining time and serves the optical copy grinding machine to reduce the load improving machining quality also.
