PURPOSE:To obtain a metal capturing agent having excellent metal adsorptive power by having the carbodithio acid group substd. with the active hydrogen of a polycondensation polyamide which is the polycondensation product of polyamine and epihalohydrin and/or the salt thereof as a substituent. CONSTITUTION:The metal capturing agent is made into the structure coupled with at least one carbodithio acid group substd. with the active hydrogen atom of the polycondensation polyamine which is the polycondensation product of polyamine and epihalohydrin and/or the salt thereof as the substituent. The structure having at least one kind selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, hydroxyalkyl group and acyl group as the N-substituent coupled with the nitrogen atom of the polycondensation polyamine is equally satisfactory. This metal capturing agent permits a satisfactory metal adsorption treatment with the amt. of addition smaller than the amt. of the addition of the conventional metal capturing agent contg. an aliphat. polydithiocarbamic acid or the salt thereof. Since the flocs formed by capturing the metals are large, the settling speed thereof is high and the quick removal of the metals in waste water is made possible.
