PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of step difference on the surface and improve working efficiency by installing an electrode position detection controllr for detecting the contact between each electrode and the roll surface and startint working after the contact of all the electrodes with the worked surface is detected. CONSTITUTION:Each electrode 2 is fed onto the worked surface of a roll 1 by an electrode feeding device (not shown in the figure), and the contact with the surface is detected by an electrode position detection controller 18, and when the electrode 2 which is free from contact is present, an instruction is input into an electric power source 17 for working, and the electrode feeding device is operated for contact. When the contact to the surfaces of all the electrodes 2 is confirmed, the electrode 2 is separated a little by the electrode feeding device, and working is started after an electric discharge gap is held. When all the electrodes 2 start electric discharge, a horizontally column transferring device 15 is operated, and a column head 3 is shifted in the direction of the revolution of the shaft by a feeding screw 16, and working is continued. Therefore, efficiency can be improved without generating the step difference on the surface. |
