In a watering installation for the application of a water layer on the roadway (1) of a test track, in particular for cars, with, arranged distributed at a spacing on at least one outer side (3) along the roadway (1) and connected to a water supply (10), water sources (7, 7'), it is proposed, to achieve as uniform as possible a water distribution on the roadway (1), with as little as possible lateral wind influence, to design the roadway (1) with a gradient (2) transversely to the direction of travel and to provide along the higher roadway side (outer side 3) a water distribution duct (4) with a distributor overflow edge (18), the water sources (7, 7') opening into the water distribution duct (18) or being arranged therein and the cross-section of the water distribution duct (18) being designed to be sufficiently large to achieve as constant as possible a water overflow quantity/length. <IMAGE>
