Method for influencing the interval wiping function of windscreen wiper devices

A method for influencing the interval wiping function of windscreen wiper devices which are present on motor vehicles and driven by electric motor is proposed. By means of the method, the problem is to be solved of equipping windscreen wiper devices with a variable interval time without a plurality of actuation elements being necessary for this or existing actuation elements, wiper motors or the necessary cabling of the windscreen wiper device having to be subjected to a change. This is achieved in that a current interval time experiences a positive or negative change whenever the actuation element is moved from its switching position assigned to the interval wiping function within an interval time which is just expiring into one of the two switching positions adjacent to this switching position and the actuation element is restored to the switching position assigned to the interval wiping function before the expiry of a predetermined maximum possible interval time.
