Portable technical device for every-day use as an aid for making decisions by random selection, in that the strength of tendencies to aperiodic group formations in the background noise of physical random micro-events is calculated and is signalled as a result, there being the possibility of varying the sequences of the random micro-events. The location for the random events can be any matter. The advance achieved is that imponderable information hidden in the interference level of the background noise can be utilised, in interaction with the user's person, for the lot-drawing operation.
