PURPOSE:To enhance storage stability before use and to obtain a photosensitive material freed of yellowing even after long storage by incorporating a combination of a specified magenta coupler, a specified s-triazole type hardener and a specified vinylsulfone type hardener in a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide emulsion layer capable of forming an image superior in color reproducibility, etc., contains a combination of the magenta coupler represented by formula I (in which Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form an N-contg. hetero ring; X is H or a group to be released by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent; and R is H, CH3, or a substituent), one of the hardeners represented by formula II and III (in which R21 is Cl, OH, OM, or the like; M is a monovalent metal, -NR'R'', or the like; R', R'' are each H, alkyl, or the like; R22 is same as R21 except for Cl; R23, R24 are each Cl, OH, OM, or the like; Q, Q' are each -O-, -S-, -NH-; L is alkylene or arylene; and l, m are each 0 or 1), and the vinylsulfone type hardener. |
