<p>An apparatus for detecting the joints of a continuous belt-like material by bringing the contact portions of two substantially equal-sized arms (118), (120) into contact with the surfaces of the belt-like material so as to detect the relative displacement of the arms. The first arm is moved independently in the vertical direction but the second arm is not, the second arm being interlocked to the first arm. The free end portion of the second arm is inserted fixedly into an intermediate portion of a rocking member which is provided with contact portions (130), (132) at the front and rear parts thereof. The intermediate portion of the rocking member is positioned substantially on the same line as a free end (122) of the first arm.</p> |
