To obtain perfect scanning of audio and/or video disks using contactless scanning with a coarse and fine drive combination for radial servo readjustment, the fine drive optimum working point A is brought about by means of correct interaction between coarse and fine drive mechanisms, even in the case of different large radial eccentricity amplitudes. This is achieved by adjustment of the coarse drive mechanism by means of a comparator 10 as a threshold value detector, and by evaluating the pulse sequences occurring at the comparator output. <IMAGE>
