A vehicle turntable suitable for domestic use consists of runways (10) mounted on a support frame (11) carried by slew rings (12). A support base plate (13) is tilted so that the axis of rotation of the turntable is inclined relative to two orthogonal planes, so that rotation of the turntable is achieved by utilizing the weight of the vehicle. A locking and braking assembly comprises a toothed segment bar (18) which is capable of limited rotation against the action of return springs (41) and dampers (42). Release of the braking and locking components may occur automatically by means of trip bars (28) or in another embodiment manually by means of handles (43). |
