PURPOSE:To improve the productivity of casting by cutting belts under use, connecting spare belts to the rear ends thereof, pulling the spare belts along the circulation line, connecting both ends and exchanging the belts. CONSTITUTION:Devices 13 for cutting and connecting the belts by means of shears and welders are provided to the return line for the belts between front and rear tension rolls 1 and 2. Take-up machines 18 which recover the exchanged old belts are disposed together with un-winders 15 which supply the spare belts 14 from the upper stream side of the devices 13. The belt 5 is clamped and cut during the operation by a clamping device 17, then the rear end of the belt 5 is welded and connected to the front end of the spare belt 14. The belt 14 is pulled along the circulation line by the belt 5 and after one round, both ends of the spare belt 14 are joined. Since the exchange of the belt is made possible without interrupting the casting, the productivity of the casting is improved. |
